Lights out and Lets Party

It looks like potato chips falling from the sky today WOWWWWW! Scott was trying to get a path cleared so the family could come to our house tonight for our Coombs Christmas Party. Then the power went out and we thought for sure it would come on in a few hours at least. We found all the candles in the house and the flash lights before he got to dark. Hopeing still that the power would be on by 5:oo when the party started NOT! So we started the party in the dark well under candlelight I am sure we won't forget this party. Thank goodness for a Flash on the Cameras. We still had a Great Time even if there were few glitches. White Elephant gifts, Ma and Pa's gifts, usually they come around on Christmas morning to share their gifts at each of our homes, but Grandpa was working to clear the roads and wasn't sure when he would be home. It seemed like we got one storm right after the other.so he and his crew had to stay working non stop all day and night to try and keep up. So Grandma decided to bring them to the party Whats a party with out a few extra gifts right. We also exchanged name gifts along with GAMES and FOOD. The power came on about 7:00 so we went down stairs and played the reindeer game, check out the picture it was fun. It was a great Party though everyone was wanting to get home and out away from the bad roads and yucky weather. WE MISSED YOU GRANDPA!!!

Christmas Eve

Much to be done on Christmas Eve! Gage our dog went to the groomers and Linda made him this cute jacket to wear out in the cold. He is not sure if he really likes it but he does look cute. Shelby taken care of she ended up with the 12 hour flu for the day thank goodness thats all it lasted. Everyone helped tidy up the house and made sure bedrooms were clean so Santa would leave some gifts under the tree. Dinner to be made before our Santa (shhh) went to his last visits for the year. Grandpa Doug, Grandma Tamera and Granpa Jim and Grandma Debbie came to dinner GREAT COMPANY by the way Thanks to you all for coming. Of course Grandpa Doug enjoys his own Laz-boy better than ours so he and Grandma didn't stay for long. Grandpa Jim had to get to work so he was prepared for the BIG STORM we revieved on CHRISTMAS! So Grandma Debbie stayed for the evening, the Traditional presents to be opened PJ's, cookies set out that was made for Santa by Shaylie and Mick's concauction reindeer food set out for santa to feed his reindeer so they could be happy for the long night. We watched a movie MOMMA MIA (loved it) while dad was out in his special suit(shhh).
Over all we had an AWESOME Christmas Eve!

It doesn't Matter

Stormy Days, Sunny Days, Freezing Cold Days It Doesn't Matter chores still need to be done! For about a Month we have had our Heifers and Horses in a field of grandpa and rogers that had more growth on it than wanted for the winter months so now that snow has arrived we throw them a little extra hay and always make sure the water is full. The girls let me tag with them one morning and really that is all I did was tagged along and took some cute pictures. They really know what they are doing and they work just like a team. Oh yea they do have a little fun while working before we got home my stomach hurt so bad from laughing so hard with these two I just love em both. Thanks Girls for the Adventure, your two tough gals thats for sure!

Mick recieved this Santa Clause as a White Elephant gift, actually he traded for it he liked it much better than the wind chime. But Connor loved the sweater with black polka dots. Poor Mason thought the biggest gift would be the best Carrie had brought some good gag gifts, Mason ended up with a door he was willing to trade the door off to any takers. Sorry Mason no takers for the door. I didn't get a pic of it oops!

Everyone was pleased with the Gifts Grandma and Grandpa gave to them. Thanks Grandpa and Grandma Newman

Scott is always trying to peek at it before the party I guess we are all quilty of it. The book cantains our Adventures through out the year and some added extras. This year Tamera decided to add stories of each of her kids births and ther grandkids births through her and Dougs eyes. It was so special because now our kids know the story about when there dad was born and when they were born and it is on paper so Great idea. We love these books and they are always at hand when we need a good book to read we love looking back at all of them THANK YOU GRANDMA AND GRANDPA we know they are alot of work!

Family Parties

Cute wrangler bums, Aunt Pam trying to get Eli to perform his favorite song, kids scrambling to get candy out of the pinata, Abbie, Mckinna and Burkely showing off there talent, always good food to be eaten at the party, Eliza and sophie performing, Abbie and Paton waiting there turn to hit the pinata, Aunt Laney making sure all the candy is out for the kids and ya some more cute wrangler bums who could resist!

This is at the Coombs Christmas Party! My dad has 12 brothers and sisters in his family. WOW it is a big family. This party has been the same time every year and some from every family are still attending. It is so fun to see all the kids, cousins, aunts, uncles and Grandma with her smilling face the whole time at the party. Grandma Bonnie looks so forward to this day that her family is all together what an awesome lady she is to have raised 12 great kids.

My Mick especially loves to go to this party because he knows is good buddy Ethan will be there we usaully only see him 2 times a year but you would think these two played with each other every day they just pick up where they left off the last time they seen each other. We are so lucky to have family! There is always some kind of Talent show at this party. They ask every brother or sisters families to share there talents. It usually ends up the adults begging the kids to get up there and do their stuff, but mostly the kids love to show off any ways. This party is a fun tradition that has been going forever and hope that it will continue even though there are some that we are not sure we know or not, but I try to do my best to talk to every one or give a hello to. What a wonderful posterity my grandparents started with 12 kids.
I love you Grandma Bonnie!

Imaginations

What we do for some entertainment! I guess you could honestly say we have some pretty redneck imaginations here at the NEWMANS house.

Mick and his buddy Bryant turned this Hot Water heater box into a MILK BARN
These two have so much fun together I love to just be in the background listening to their stories and their imaginations fly

Shelby and her friend Maria turned garbage bags into sleds

Whatever is imagined it sure seems like there is always FUN behind the whole picture!

Christmas Craft

These cute little trees have the best STORY! Friday after Thanksgiving shopping I ended up coming home with Melissa (sister in'law) instead of my mom and cody. My mom got sick and cody took her home so melissa picked me and Shaunie up in Ogden. We stopped at a couple more stores on the way home, as i was getting out of the car I noticed these cute trees in the car next to us. I said look how cute these trees are they look way easy to make we could make these melissa. Then a couple weeks went by and melissa calls me on a friday morning (her day off) an asks "do you want to make some of those trees" sure!.. Then she asks okay what do I need and how much of it and etc. ( so cute I just love her). I planned on helping that night but it didn't work out it ended up being Saturday night and finishing them up on Monday night. We made 4 sets then she said by the way one of these sets are for you MERRY CHRISTMAS! Thanks Melissa you are the BEST!

I always love to make a craft at Christmas and these were way fun!

Little Elves

I am the luckiest gal around we had some elves show up to our house Thursday night and was prepared to see a room that looked like a twister had went through and never looked back. It is the catch all store room that has needed attention for sometime. These two elves wanted to do some service, for ME. WoW I love these two so much!

My dad and my brother chad wanted to do something for me. They surprised me and told me they were coming friday to build shelves for our storeroom/toy room/craft room/mud room. I started doing the happy dance. I was so excited but so embarrased at the same time we have taken Christmas totes down off the shelves we do have, and hadn't put them back, we had just replaced a water heater that has not yet been removed out, we have a full size mattress set, two bed frames, saw horses, old windows, junk, horse tack, crafts that need to be done, old t.v., winter clothing, toys d.i. bags and more junk etc. in this room to where you could not even see the floor let alone push the door open. So they wanted to start the following morning and new I would need some extra help to prepare the room for some shelves to be placed in there. YIPEE! We have this nice space for so much storage but who really wants or has time to organize a store room when you are trying to keep up with the rest of the house.

WOW look at all this stuff. Why does it collect so fast?

I can't wait now to get more organized in this area I am waiting until I am off for Christmas break to really dig in and fill these WONDERFUL shelves with our storage and toss out some of that junk that has been collecting.

I feel so grateful to have such good family. Every time I turn around I am blessed with good Family, Friends and more that is always trying to do acts of kindness for others. Thank you Dad and Chad for being the examples you are to me and my family and for this gift I could'nt ask for any other special gift than this I LOVE YA!!!!

cousins

Isaac, Mick and Colter

These boys have so much fun together whether it be playing ball, trucks or watching tractors on u-tube just being together is what they like.

SAY CHEESE!

Chilli

Grandma Tameras tree is so fitting for our family it has
corn, tractors and cows on it. We love her tree.

Grandpa and Grandma spoil us on Sundays with dinner every sunday even if Grandma is gone to NYC! Grandpa didn't want a quiet house on Sunday so he made his famous chilli that we all love. Grandpa Doug don't ever make a small batch of chilli it is always the biggest batch to feed an army or all his kids for a few days. We LOVE him and his chilli Grandpa is a giving person and is more than willing to share whatever he has. While we were there we decided to surprise grandma and decorate her tree we all got involved and helped in our own way hanging christmas around the house. We love you grandma and hope you love your surprise!!

Grandpa Doug distributing out the chilli! These jars are not qrt size jars either

These were the Happy Helpers! Shaylie, Mason, Mick and Shelby. Grandpa, Scott, Eric, Shaunie, Melissa and I also put our touch on the evening also

BOYS AND THERE TOYS

Just in time before the snow arrived we finally got some more dirt to finish a project that we started in the fall we tore out some cement and needed to add dirt and lay some sod. The sod looks pretty ugly but it waited in the yard for two weeks before it was laid so hopefully come summer it will have forgiven us and be pretty and green. I would show you a picture but the grass looks pretty gross I am glad the snow will cover it soon.

Scott in the fall tearing out the cement. He loved having this little back hoe it saved alot of time breaking up the cement. Of coarse he had fun running it also.

Mick driving the tractor back to the house. I think he was only able to go like 2 mph but how excited he was he didn't care. Then he got here in the yard and loaded some dirt in the bucket and dumped a few times. WOW my little guy is growing up to fast!

Mick is way seriuos when it comes to tractors he is pretty darn smart about these big machines
I think he watches his dad and grandpa pretty close.

Shaunie loves the FFA she has so many friends and good advisors that are teaching the kids. This night she earned her CHAPTER DEGREE good job sis! Keep up the good work and take every opportunity that you can into your hands. You can learn so much and have so much fun right along with learning. LOVE YA!

These crazy kids are5 of the 12 that recieved there CHAPTER DEGREES on Dec 4th. I ask to get a photo and squeeze together and of coarse the boys try and squeeze shaunie out of the pic. These five always have so much fun together they are all sophmores and good friends!

This tree is tall and thin it worked great in our old house but
we just haven't given it up yet and bought a new one.
Maybe we can hit the After Christmas sales and find the one we want.
Bigger and with lights already on it.
This tree is our red tree it is in our front room upstairs we change it up a little different every year. The candy canes are different this year and we LOVE em.
I love the Christmas season and decorating the house.
Sometimes I feel that we just get a whole new look of things in the house.
I love the lights, the smells and the family traditions at Christmas!
This is our Snowman Tree it is downstairs in the family room our favorite part of this tree is the topper it is a sign that Friends gave us (joe & heidi) that says
"ALL MY FRIENDS ARE FLAKES" we love it and
always get a good laugh when we put that on the top of our snowman tree!
This is one of our Nativity Scenes.
My moms Relief Society done these a couple of years ago it is our favorite!

Once there was a Snowman!

Okay I have to tell you about this cute little family of snowmen. Scott's Aunt Mickey (actually Doug's Aunt Mickey) made these cute snowmen. Tamera my mother-in law decided one sunday that they just didn't fit in her house they were just to big. April, Melissa, Carrie and I all wanted them so she put our names in a hat and drawed out MY NAME hahahahah. We love when Tamera has these drawings I tend to be the lucky one and April always gets the dud suprise. j/k April and Melissa won't let me live it down they are so jealous of these cute snowmen in my house. But I just tell them they are happy were they are and it wouldn't be nice to take them away from there happy place. I have them spread out more than this picture shows I wanted to get a close shot so you could see how cute they are. Thanks Tamera and Aunt Mickey we have loved these snowmen for 5 Christmas' and hope to love them forever something maybe one day my girls will love to have in there home.

Just For Me!
Well my sister-in-law Melissa has talked me in to doing a Turbo Kick Class with her. WOW that is what I have to say it is the second day after and Yes I am stiff and sore. BUT it was great fun RIGHT. Just Kiddin I am loving it and know that it is hard work but what hard work don't pay off in the end. Thanks sis for dragging me I LOVE YA! The best part is that I am doing something for me, I need this last night at class Michelle was teaching us PiYo it is amazing and then she turned the lights off at the end and talked to us about how it does not matter what others think or look like it only matters what we think about ourselves. Before she was done talking (we are still in the dark thank goodness) and I was crying I know I am a boob but it really hit me hard. I am hard on myself and don't love me for me. I am learning and I know this class is going to help so much. Wish me luck that I can survive.

Family Pics

I am the luckiest Mom around. I am blessed with 4 beautiful children, a Sweet Husband (most of the time) and some more Family Pictures . I love them all!
A Big Thanks to aunt Karen, aunt Melissa and Mason for helping us out.
Are they just of the cutest kids ever!GREAT BLOOPERS ARE THE BEST!
Trying to get Shaylie Bug to be serious is impossible she has to giggle, giggle, giggle. Shelby was always teasing, Shaunie not liking her picture taken, and Mick wouldn't sit still. Dad from not showing is teeth (he needs two front teeth for Christmas for sure) but try to smile. We still had fun, had no arguements, dealt with the cold with no complaints and they all turned out pretty darn good. Thanks family for cooperating!!!
I LOVE YOU KIDS!
