First day of School! Who really is ready to go back to school? Not me! That means I have to go back to work and maybe we will get on a schedule. Shaunie is starting High School why don't I feel old,Shelby 7th grade, Shaylie will be in 5th and Mick in 2nd. Next year we will have kids in 4 different schools. I love the first day or two of school because the kids don't argue about what they are going to wear. They are anxious to start something new and get right out of bed with excitement. They all had a great day except Mick he says he would rather be farming than going to school this year. He loved school last year and so hopefully he will learn to love it in a couple of weeks. I love you kids and hope that you have many learning experiences this year in school GOOD LUCK!!

WE SURVIVED!!

Shaylie Kissing "LUCKY" she wanted him to do his best. He behaved so well and Shaylie did a great Job! She had the hardest time on sale day. She nearly cried going in to the auction barn. It is hard not to get attached sometimes

Shelby didn't want anyone to see her crack (thank goodness) while she was drying "OTTIS". Shelby is a good helper she don't complain when her dad asks for her help. Shelby has grown so much and learned lots from last year.


WoW! what a week we had. This year has came and gone already. We look so forward to the fair and it goes by so fast. We are all so busy and always trying to help each other do the best that each of us can. It is amazing how many people it takes and time that people put into making this fair a success for our community. I feel so blessed to raise a family in our community, so many helping hands all around us. The kids did awesome at the fair Shelby and Shaylie both took first in there classes and ended up with STAR choices and 6th and 8th over all. Shaunie took 2nd in Showmanship she did awesome I think she is quite a little natural at it. Mick did AWESOME! He takes this quite serious. You wouldn't think that he really is grasping what his sisters are teaching him. But he sure shows that he has listened to every word and watched every move that they make when he gets into the show ring. WAY TO GO KIDS YOU DID GREAT!! We are so proud of each of you and the hard work you put into your projects. HARD WORK REALLY DOES PAY OFF IN THE END!!





We had so much fun staying up being wild and crazy with all the kids. Just catching up with old friends and making memories with new friends. When you can end a week of hard work and fun with a smile and remind each other same time same place in 2009 you have made some good memories that won't be forgotten. Thanks to the Summers' family and the Marsh family for the fun week and many others who made our week a great success.

FAIR TIME! ALREADY?

The kids have worked hard like they always do in getting ready for the fair. We all look forward to this week. The kids are getting up early when it is cool to work with their animals and staying up late also to work with their animals. We are proud of our kids and all the hard work that they themselves put into this big project! GOOD LUCK NEWMAN CLAN!


Shaylie Bug with "LUCKY" her steer is a little pet she loves him to give her kisses! Shaylie will sit and talk to "Lucky" like they are best friends.

Shelby with "OTTIS" he has been a little more of a challenge he has been a bit of a kicker but shelby has been patient and worked with him lots and he and Shelby are doing AWESOME! Shelby sits in the manger, rubs his face and neck until "Ottis" is so relaxed that he falls asleep and will start snoring,it is the funniest thing.



Shaunie has "RED" this year she wasn't sure about the red steer she prefers black but she is growing to really like him. Shaunie has taught her sisters and brother lots. Even when she don't think they are listening, they each look up to her for an example. Shaunie thanks for being patient with them. THEY LOVE YOU!


Mick and "SISSY" she is a heifer out of Shaunie's Heifer. At the beginning of the summer Mick was a little rough with "sissy" roping her, riding her, and so on. She grew to have a little attitude with him so he has had to be tough and endure what he created, but I think he learned his lesson and is ready for the show to begin.

"Laughs@Lagoon"

Lagoon was full of fun, wet, heat and many laughs. We heard all day "can we go again", "Can I ride with her", "Grandma sit by me", "Did you like that ride" and a few times we heard "this ride is closed it could be 5 minutes to 2 hours" but the day was AWESOME and Grandma Tamera was the trooper she rode front seat on the wicked and never was scared a second. She told me she would close her eyes and go to her happy place if she got nervous. We Love Her! We had so much fun riding on every ride we could get to and going again and again on our favorites. Grandma Tamera Treated us with the day and we love her for making great fun memories with us.

"Shit Happens"

Scott and I bought a Combine this winter (an old combine). We thought that it might be fun and maybe bring in a few extra dollars for the family. Scott is pretty talented when it comes to farm equipment and fixing things. We worked together many days on fixing minor things this spring. We parked the combine in the hay shed where it would be out of the weather and we thought out of the way of danger. Then we noticed one afternoon that a bale of hay fell on the auger and bent it up. So we found another old combine that someone was just junking out parts and was able to buy the auger from him it was in great shape. We replaced it and began to tinker some more getting the combine in good shape for the grain harvest to begin. The first day a knife breaks $300, the second day a hose breaks $40, the third a tire breaks $1800, no that is not a typo, and so on. You probably know where the story gets its title from because that is the famous phrase when it comes to our projects I believe.
We start feeling better about things because he gets a few more phone calls from friends that want him to come cut grain. $$$ we hoped. Then we were having a good week and Scott calls me on a Firday night and says we had a break down today and not sure if it is just a plug or what I was hoping it was the .40 cent plug. I get another phone call and it is Scott, he is not sounding to happy (i thought maybe someone had died he was so sad) he says sweetheart I should have known it was bad if he was calling me sweetheart, we lost the engine in the combine. WHAT!!! I am beginning to wonder about what we were thinkin but as you know SHIT HAPPENS! I love you Scott!

Where are the Newmans?

We have all been busy. From ballgames, to reunions, to parties, picnics and more ballgames we have been a busy family this summer and I guess that is why it has went so fast. There has been alot going on and many blessings and memories to show for it. I just have to say how Grateful I am to have the job that I have so that I can enjoy the summer with my kids like I do. We have had a GREAT SUMMER!

We had so much fun at this show we seen friends that we hadn't seen for awhile and swapped kids. Shaylie went to Hannah's house and Rawley came home with Mick. The kids had so much fun catching up and just being together.








We have found plenty of water fights around!








Summer is flying by and pretty soon we will all be back to school. We have had a great summer and made many memories to show for it.

PUCKER UP!

Mick was stung by a wasp Tuesday. He came home from the farm crying and had is hand on his face I thought maybe I would see blood or even missing teeth, I wasn't really ready for a BIG HUGE LIP! We tried vinegar, onion, and a penny and it still swelled up. We get him somewhat calmed down and he looked in the mirror and said oh no I am going to die! He thought the only one that could fix this was DR. Rod, so I called the Dr. and said we are coming in. We sat in the room and Mick says I am not leaving this room until my lip is looking better. DR. Rod took one look at him and said OH MY GOSH YOU LOOK LIKE MOE ON THE SIMPSONS MICK! Mick was not amused one bit. Rod proceeded to give us instructions and told mick it probably would be swollen for a couple of days. Mick didn't want any pictures taken at the time but now he is glad because we are getting a big kick out of his fat lip. WE LOVE YOU MICK even if you have a big fat lip.
