Game Nights

WOW! What fun we have together. Melissa, Eric, Ashley and Mason come to our house or we go to there house and have game night (1 or 2 nights a month). We play wacky six, sneaks, farm game, blocks or whatever we choose. We even pull pranks on each other or go around the table telling a dark secret or two with truth or dare. We all look forward to these game nights they are so much fun with tons of laughs. I am especially grateful to family that you can just relax and have a good time together. Thank You Hansen FAMILY!

Spring is in the air

We have been busy here at the so called newman farms. We had some fun new arrivals a couple of weeks ago. You would have thought it was a birth of a child here at the house. We have been waiting anxiously for the arrivals of our little calves. Hoping to get 2 steers for showing next year but were blessed with 2 more heifers. Mick thinks it is great because we can just have more cows that we don't need to sale. Scott and I went to dinner with some family that was here from Vegas on a Friday night. Before we left the kids were out doing there chores. We arrived in the parking lot at Maddox and Scott gets a phone call (of course whats new) from Shaunie, "Dad my heifer is in labor" okay how do you know. "Well she is breathing heavy and her water has broke duh" Scott-"She will be fine just check on her every 30-45 minutes we will be home before she calves". Shaunie- "Are you sure because I am nervous for her it is her first calf" Scott-"yes she will be fine". So we eat dinner enjoy the company but are very anxious to get home also. We are driving home and get a phone call with step by step visuals of the happenings at home. Our three kids are there watching the birth of a baby calf and we aren't there to share it with them (dang it). No it isn't the first that they have seen born but it is the first of there very own mama cow that we raised from a baby calf so it was different. The excitement of getting home to be with my family and share this fun moment was crazy. I guess you could call us strange but we were kinda sad and happy at the same time to know that our kids were able to experience this even without us was Great. Shaunie was very proud and never left the mama from the time her water broke for nearly 2 hours after she had the baby calf. She was the proud owner of another animal to take care of (oh great). Pictures aren't the best my camera broke and we have better ones on our phones but haven't downloaded them to the computer just one more thing to do right.

Sweet little Watch Dog!

Our dog Gage is our family dog. He is the best little friend to every one in our family. He is a Shi-tzu and we have had him for 4 years. He loves to chase the blankets around, play fetch though he don't bring it back very well. He LOVES to go in the car with us. He Loves popcorn and only likes to drink fresh cool water.Scott tolerates him but is the biggest worry wort when it comes down to the dog (he don't want him outside for to long in the cold or heat). I have come home from work and the dog is gone I am scared that he has been ran over or is lost. Come to find out Scott has come home to take him with him for the day at work. I love that I am his favorite. He likes to sleep on our bed he curls right up to scott or lays right next to my feet. Shaunie loves him, Shelby loves him, and Shaylie adores him. Sometimes Shaylie will play house and gage is a family member. She even puts clothes on him, gives him rides in the stroller, and sits him in the crib. Now Mick well he is not actually gages favorite but he is micks. Mick mauls him to death. He says that he just loves him so much why do gage love me that much. I think having a family pet is good for everyone. They give us unconditional love always. Gage has never attacked anyone or bit anyone I take that back he did give mick a little nip when Mick was teasing him. But Tonight Shaunie had some friends that dropped by (boys) and gage was not sure he liked this paticular boy. We were laughing so hard because gage was nearly try to bite his ankles. It scared this paticular person, that he wouldn't even come in the door. Maybe we will be real glad that we have this family dog in situations like this when them boys come over they will be aware that gage is here to protect our girls.

January! Where did you go?

Well I guess it's time to update. We are surving the snow. January was freezing though and went real fast. Scott, Shaunie and I went to Denver for a few days. We went to the National Western Stock Show. We had a lot of fun. I will try and show pictures. Shelby, Shaylie and Mick stayed with Granpa Jim and Grandma Debbie. They had a blast and the minute we walked in the door Mick ask me when we were going on another trip. I think grandma played games with him all weekend long. He hs become quite the little card shark of a player. I think the girls missed us though. Shelby wants to go next year for sure. She don't like mom to be to far away. Shelby started back playing softball (indoors). She attended a catching clinic at USU and got a little one on one training. She thought it was great. She stayed for the pitching clinic to catch for a teammate and by the end of the day she was exhausted.

Waiting at the airport our flight was delayed for 3 hours. Shaunie and I played cards took pictures of each other and watched all the weird people at the airport. Scott talked to strangers and slept.

Mick and Shaunie have birthdays in January, Mick turned 7 and Shaunie 15. Wow!! I can't believe my babies are getting so old and grown up. It really is fun having a teenager (lol) in the house. Mick is becoming a real smart little fart. We just had parent teacher conference and the scores he is showing are awesome! He has jumped so high from the beginning of the school year we are so proud of him. His teacher is the best ever. Shaunie is doing great in school though she tends to worry more about friends, boys and fun, instead of school. She is playing the role of a typical teenager.

Tis The Season

Happy Holidays

It's all I can do to get one serious picture out of these 4 goof balls! These kids are always wanting to take silly pictures. We have so much fun together. We went to marble park and took a few shots for a Christmas card. It was freezing cold. the four of them got an early Christmas gift from Dad.
John Deere Hoodies they love'em.

Wishing You a Merry Christmas

Thursday night I was able to go down to Salt Lake City and see the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert with the King Singers. It was so fun to be with Great Company, see the lights, Listen to the music, and just to be there in that chirstmas atmosphere. We are so lucky to live so close to Temple square. We should all take more advantage of that great place. Thanks mom for getting the tickets I hope we can make it a tradition every year.

While I was gone enjoying the Christmas Concert my family was home enjoying the fun spirit of christmas (Santa & the Elves). Scott had a party to go to and ended up with a bad sore throat, being the quick thinker he didn't want any kids to get sick, so asked Eric our brother in-law to fill in for him. I think they had a great time and who knows scott might be out of a christmas job if he don't straighten up.

Here is Shaunie wow she is so fun. She is boy crazy, full of attitude, and very spiritual at the same time. She amazes me I am so proud of her and her accomplishments. Keep up the Good Work.

Mick is following his big sisters foot steps. He is a hard worker at the farm, house and school. He is getting his reading goals accomplished and making sure he has time to go to the farm everyday. He is our pride and joy. Along with the rest of the gang also.
